Broomfield Hospital opened the doors to the new £148m PFI wing on Sunday 12th September 2010 and Hospital Radio Chelmsford took the opportunity to have good look around and broadcast live all day from the new Foyer.

More than 2000 people joined members of the MEHT executive staff, the PFI Team and the Deputy Mayor as the doors were swung open during the day to see the new hospital wing.

Hospital Radio Chelmsford setup the mobile studio in the Foyer and broadcast live programmes from 9am through to 4pm.

Station Manager Phil Meacham said “It was a great success on every single level, we are now very much looking forward to welcoming the departments from St Johns hospital in October.”
