Alex Webb re-joined in November 2009. He can be heard on Saturday lunchtime from 12.00pm-1.00pm. In his own words, this is why Alex joined:

After 4 years presenting this show every Sunday from 11am to Noon, I had to give up because my business was expanding and could need me at short notice to be on site anywhere in the U.K.
Jumping forward for more decades than I care to recall, I received a letter from Programme Controller, Adam Ravenscroft inviting me to the 45th anniversary celebrations. It was great to attend and meet up and reminisce with some of the guys I knew in the 1960's and to learn of their progress into various prominent BBC stations throughout the U.K. .
At this celebration meeting I was asked by Adam if I would come along to the new studios in Broomfield Hospital to be interviewed on his Saturday morning show. I was absolutely overawed when I saw for the first time the advanced technology now in operation.

In Hospital Radio, apart from being great fun, you make good friends. I was sad to retire from the service in the 1970's but am extremely glad to have been invited back after 40 years. I know college students take gap years, but 40 gap years must be some sort of record
