I decided to join Hospital Radio Chelmsford as I wanted to volunteer as a Radio Presenter. It’s a great opportunity to improve my presenting skills. As well as presenting, I enjoy helping out generally with fundraising, road shows, and visiting wards collecting patient and staff requests!

After joining Hospital Radio Chelmsford, I have found that I have made loads of great friends and contacts. Here at Hospital Radio Chelmsford, we are definitely a friendly bunch of people, and it is so much fun and we are always laughing out loud on air!

My highlight so far definitely has to be winning Silver in the 2009 National Hospital Radio Awards, in the Best Newcomer Category. I didn’t expect to win and I still can’t believe it and it just goes to prove that if you keep trying…you will succeed…so never give up on your dreams. As Dizzee Rascal said “If you believe…you will achieve”…and I have to say that Mr Rascal’s quote is a great motto for life!

Another highlight since joining Hospital Radio Chelmsford, was interviewing the award winning singer: Shahin Badar, who has worked with the well renowned dance band ‘The Prodigy’.

Getting into the radio broadcasting industry is really tough, but Hospital Radio Chelmsford gives me a great flavour of what it is like and what it takes to be a top class Radio Presenter!
