Lewis joined in March 2010 and joined the Wednesday night team. He can be heard on Monday’s HRC Requests from 8.30pm and Wednesday’s at 10pm. In his own words, this is why Lewis joined:
Getting into radio has always been an ambition of mine, from a young age I have always enjoyed listening to the radio and even practising by doing my own radio shows from my bedroom! Radio is a difficult industry to get into, which is why Hospital Radio is such a great place to start.
Since joining Hospital Radio Chelmsford, I have been a loyal member to the ''Wednesday Night Request Team' which more recently has turned into the 'Monday & Wednesday Night Request Team'!!! - But also I have been involved in the training of many new members (eventhough I'm pretty much new myself!), presenting of various shows, whether it be alone or in a group. I was also a producer for the Open Day for the brand new wing here at Broomfield, in which we done an outside broadcast.
More recently, I have been given the role of being an assistant producer here at Hospital Radio Chelmsford in which my first project was to compile together an hour of the best bits in our outside broadcast at the new Broomfield wing. Watch this space as I'm sure it will be on the website very soon!
I hope to, in my future here, develop my skills in radio and presenting and then share them skills with others. I also hope to win an award (I mean who doesn't?!) and finally I hope to get involved with a few more parts of the station, aswell as the producing and presenting side.
I currently have my own show, along with Will Hodge called 'Chilled Choonz' which we present on a Wednesday evening. You can probably guess what sort of music we play? If not, we play a mixture of chilled out tunes to help the patients relax as we move into the later hours of the night.
