I joined Hospital Radio Chelmsford in October 1991 after having visited the station as part of a communications badge I was doing for Boys Brigade and seeing a newspaper article asking for volunteers.

I also have fond memories of the Roadshows which we used to do from events such as the now defunct Essex Show in Great Leighs and the various 'non-stop broadcasts' we used to run over Bank Holiday weekends.
I have served on the committee as Public Relations Officer, Chief Engineer, Secretary and Treasurer. It was during my time as Chief Engineer that we moved from St Johns to Broomfield Hospital and was heavily involved in this transition for the station and its members.
This work was recognised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association, our umbrella organisation, when in 2008 I was awarded 'Volunteer of the Year'. This was a great honour and one I will never forget.
More recently I am in charge of a project to enable those visiting the Outpatients and Restaurant areas of the Hospital to hear our broadcasts and also to ensure we are part of the new PFI Hospital due to be open from October 2010.
I present the Breakfast Show Monday to Friday along with a special Sunday version of the show which includes a thought for the week from the Hospital Chaplaincy team. I also do a late night show as well which keeps me busy.
I hope you enjoy the station and get in touch.
