45 years ago something magical started one Sunday morning in an nurses common room at the Chelmsford and Essex hospital, little did those pioneers know what an impact hospital broadcasting would have for generations of patients in Mid Essex.

Over the years, the music has changed, the technology has moved on, the faces are different and the studios have been built, knocked down, rebuilt, replaced, moved and built again - but the very reason why a hospital radio station was born in September 1964, to bring a smile to those in hospital has not.
