So you are interested in Joining
Hospital Radio Chelmsford has been around for more than 55 years serving the patients in and around the Chelmsford area.
The station has always been well supported by dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteers, but we are always looking for new members who can run and support the station. Especially technical minded and computer savvy to support the engineering team.
However, we are unable to offer temporary work experience placements.
If you wish to become a member you must be 17 years of age and be prepared to commit to an agreed amount of time. You will be required to complete a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) and you will need to complete the application process. This normally takes a few weeks.
The following is part of the process:
Receive training on how to use all the equipment in the three studios, as well as the radio automation Myriad system.
Receive on-going support for presenter style and development of ideas for content.
You will be expected to attend and contribute time and effort towards outside broadcasts and, more importantly, fundraising throughout the year.
Make a difference to the patients of Broomfield Hospital by entertaining them through the medium of radio and regularly visiting their bedsides in order for them to be able to request and listen to their choice of music.
