Hospital Radio Chelmsford prides itself on being one of the very best hospital broadcasters in the UK. Programmes cover a wide range of musical choices as well as discussions, interviews and chat.  It’s a perfect mix of entertainment whilst you’re in hospital. The most important thing for us, is that you have a say in what you hear. How, I hear you cry? Every evening between 8.30 and 10pm VIP Requests hits the airwaves and the goods news is that if you miss your request, we repeat the whole show the following afternoon between 3.30 and 5pm.

Before the show goes on-air our Request Team will visit a selection of wards and collect requests from our listeners. Unfortunately we cannot visit each ward every night as the hospital is far too big for that, so we go to the wards on a rota basis, which means we see around 100 people each evening and each ward usually gets visited 2 or 3 times a week. Look out for our team on your ward soon. They're easy to recognise, as they will be wearing Hospital Radio Chelmsford lanyards, carrying pens, request slips and our SMILE magazine.

Don’t worry if you can’t think of a song, try picking one from our Hall of Fame. These are the artists which our listeners have chosen the most in the last 12 months. If you miss the team on your ward, our 24-hour Request Line is always available and free from your bedside entertainment system or 01245 516450 from a payphone or 6450 on the internal phone, which can be found on the nurses' desk.
