Welcome to the website of Hospital Radio Chelmsford.  We wonder what you’re looking for.  Let us tell you what we’re about.  We provide radio broadcasting 24/7 (much of which is live) to the patients of Broomfield Hospital and, of course, to those who wish to listen in on the internet.

We are all volunteers and if you fancy joining us we’d be delighted to hear form you.  It may be that you have some technical abilities or you may want to learn how to present or back up the team in another way.  What ever your skills are, we will find a place for you here at Hospital Radio Chelmsford.  We’re a friendly bunch and whilst we feel that our efforts are very rewarding, we have fun along the way.

So, don’t hesitate in getting in touch with us and the Board of Trustees, personally, look forward to having you on board.

Please note you must be over 17 years to join Hospital Radio Chelmsford and unfortunately due to restrictions we are not able to offer work placements for job experience.

Listening to our programmes whilst in hospital is absolutely free. Just pick channel 5 from the radio selection on your bedside entertainment system, and we are there 24 hours a day. You can call us for free too, just pick up the phone on the bedside system and press the Hospital Radio button on the screen.

If you bring a computer, tablet or smartphone into hospital with you, you can follow us on FaceBook, Twitter, You Tube and Mixcloud.

You can also call us on 01245 51 64 50.

When, after you have been discharged, you can take us with you. We broadcast LIVE on the internet, either from our website, from one of our HRC Player apps for Smartphones and Tablets, or you can find us on TuneIn.  All of the details can be found here. Your friends and family can join in too. Everyone can enjoy your favourite songs!

Whilst you are in hospital, let us play your favourite songs on our nightly VIP Request Show. Our team of volunteers will visit you on your ward, or you can drop us a request here. Our Most Requests Artists might help you with just some of the singers and bands that are regularly picked on the VIP Request Show.

Finally, we have a great host of fun programmes for you to enjoy, there is something for everyone. We have competitions too. So there is plenty of fun to help pass the day, like our famous 'Movie Moments' competition, that gives you the chance to win some great prizes to take home.

"Just heard that my very good friend Norman, currently on A304, won a prize on Hospital Radio this evening.  Thank you all.  It brought a smile to his face. Your work is very much appreciated."
